Cozy

The other night I found Rexford watching tv in our laundry basket. Notice the big boy underwear :)

Little Slugger

Austin is forced to play in Rexford's room a lot and sometimes I don't drag Austin's toys in there with us. He likes to play with Rexford's toys anyway. One thing he likes lately is this little baseball bat. Of course he likes to eat it like all of the other toys but he also likes to hit the ground with it when I say, "bam bam." He smiles and keeps doing it over and over.

BYU Buds

During our very very rainy week we had nothing to do but play inside and take pictures. Rexford likes to for me to take pictures of him and then he wants to look at them on the camera. Here are the boys one day wearing their cougar gear.

Big Boy

We are so proud of Rexford! He is getting to be such a big boy and this week he finally is making the transition to big boy underwear! This is the third day and it has been going really well. He's only had a few small accidents. I still have to remind him a lot to go but sometimes he'll tell me he has to go. He was really into the prizes and now he's getting better about not getting something every time he goes. I am still scared to leave the house and not really sure how that will all work. I am so tired of being in the house though. I guess this yucky rainy week was good for potty training since it's too gross to go outside anyway. Rexford is doing great and Daddy is so excited to have only one child in diapers. Here a few pictures from last few days.

Here a few pictures of the boys together hanging out together these rainy gloomy potty training days.

On The Move

Austin is becoming more mobile each day. He hasn't quite reached real crawling yet but he can really get across the floor if there's something he wants. He gets up on his hands and knees sometimes and flops forward but most of the time he slides and pushes himself on his stomach across the room. He especially likes to go for Rexford's toys (which of course Rexford does not like) or things like slippers, remote controls, and drumsticks.

My happy little Austin is 7 months old

He loves big brother's toys

Here I go

Almost there

This is hard work...

In a few weeks he's going to be all over the place so fast and I'm going to be running around crazy breaking up fights over toys :)

Super Baby

Every night Brian holds Austin up to the little fan in Rexford's room. Austin loves it! He gets so excited when he sees the fan and laughs when he feels it blowing his hair.

Hands

This is our shoe container. The shelf we used before finally fell apart after Rexford used it to sit and stand on one too many times. Particle board is just not designed for Rexford's weight. Anyway, we got this little ottoman that opens and we put all our shoes in it so there's not a mess by the door. One day I noticed Rexford sticking his shoes into the handle holes on each side and I asked him what he was doing. He told me, "Now our shoe container has hands." Now I usually leave them there when I see them. We don't want the shoe container to be without hands, right?

Bubble

On Sunday I was in Nursery with Rexford during snack time. They passed out little cups of water and Rexford had his own cup. I was surprised when I looked over to see him sticking his hand into another little boy's cup. I told him that we don't put our hands in other people's cups and he said, "But there was a bubble!" It was just too much to resist I guess.

Rexford Quotes from May

Rexford: What does yogurt start with Mommy?
Me: y
Rexford: oh, just like Papa's Y (the YMCA).

We were talking to Eric and Audrey on the computer at Grandma Ursic's house the other day and Rexford was talking about the twins and said, "Ethan has two babies. Ava was in Audrey's tummy. Was Zach in Uncle Eric's tummy?"

Last night it was a little stormy and I pointed out some lightning. Rexford turned around and said, "where?" I said, "out there in the sky." He said, "what's in the sky?" I said, "lightning." Rexford said, "Lightning is in the sky. There's a race car in the sky." The movie Cars has really confused him :)

Rexford to Daddy: You have your best two boys in the whole wide world.

Jumping

Austin discovered how to jump in the exersaucer last week and one night he was very vocal and jumping a lot so I grabbed the camera. He's "talking" a lot lately making all kinds of sounds. He loves to get attention from us and loves praise and clapping. He also likes food and wants what we have. He drinks from a cup with a straw and "chews" the baby puff snacks. He's so much fun!

Camping

The other day we decided to make a little tent in Austin's room. Rexford loves it when Grandma Ursic makes a tent for the kids in her living room. Of course mine wasn't as good because Grandma makes one with a bed in it but my blanket just wasn't big enough to do that. Anyway, it was pretty hot under there as you can see from Rexford's sweaty head. I think Austin was pretty confused and looked around and above him for a long time. We had fun pretending to sleep and playing with toys inside. Rexford and Austin rolled around and made each other smile and laugh.

I Love My Boys!

Oops!

Nothing makes you feel like a bad mom like letting your baby fall of the bed. A couple of nights ago I must have fallen asleep feeding him and I woke to Austin screaming. He's okay but I still feel so bad since this is the second time it has happened. And that was after I turned around and he toppled over hitting his head on furniture in Rexford's room earlier that day. He's so dangerous lately because he lunges forward while sitting to get to toys and so he really has to be in the center of the room away from everything.

Here is Austin's first ouchy from hitting his head on some furniture. Nothing too serious but I felt bad anyway :)

Brothers

Every morning Rexford wakes up around 6:30 am, sometimes earlier. Rexford can't wait for Austin to wake up, which is usually hours after Rexford. So the whole time he's awake, he keeps asking us to check and see if Austin is awake. He always gets so excited when Austin does wake up. He will come running from whatever part of the house he's in when he hears me open the door and go in to get him. Yesterday he said that he wanted to hold Austin and then asked me if I would like a picture. Of course I said yes so here they are. I love how sweet Rexford is to Austin and how Austin lights up when he sees Rexford. They laugh and smile and it's fun to watch. Austin will be crawling soon though so the fighting might come soon too :) Austin had just woken up so he was a little out of it but he did smile eventually.

Fun at the Park

We decided to go to the park today and play in the water since it was hot. The past two times Austin has cried when we put him in the water but today he loved it and kept trying to grab it. He even giggled and smiled a few times. We had a fun day :)

Rexford loves the slides

Trying to get away from the camera

Following a bug

Swinging together

He looks so big in the baby swing but he is only two still :)

Austin enjoyed the swing today
Getting sleepy

Out

Rexford has learned how to play on the big kid swings now

ooh, I think I might like this

He couldn't get enough

Rexford happily running around playing with water

Why is he still bothered when we pour water on his head in the bathtub?

He was excited to learn how to work the shower

Throwing water on me

Just being silly

Catching water

Rexford constantly watched the worker drive around and do his jobs. He told me to take a picture of this for him. He wanted to drive it.
