Water Play

Yesterday we bought a fun little pool for the kids to play in at home when we're not swimming at Shannon's or at Aquatica. Rexford had lots of fun splashing and jumping around in the water. He especially enjoyed throwing buckets of water on me and Aly and Caleb :) Austin on the other hand did not really like the water. It was really cold and he cried when he got wet. After awhile he kind of warmed up to it and gave us a few smiles.

Wheee!

Go ahead, stick your feet in Austin

This is okay I guess

Disney World

Todd and Aly took us to Disney on Friday and we had a really fun time! Rexford got to go on the race cars twice, which he loved since it's his favorite ride. His favorite things-garbage trucks and fire trucks-were on display at Epcot so that was exciting. He was a little afraid that the fire truck siren would start and so he was cautious at first. He also wanted nothing to do with the Nemo ride or aquarium and screamed when I took him inside. He was totally afraid because it was dark and a little like you are surrounded by water with giant fish. So we moved on and he had fun going on the carousel, playing at Pooh's playground, and of course riding the train. Austin was good as usual, not complaining about us dragging him everywhere in the heat. He wasn't very happy on the way home though :)

When you push the button on top of the fire hydrant a camera takes your picture and shows it to you on a screen. Rexford liked this and kept taking his picture.

Todd took some wild photos of us driving and Rexford thought he was so funny.

Rexford isn't tall enough to be totally seen I guess :)

It was pretty hot and Rexford got Uncle Todd to help him with the water fountain

We had lots of fun on the magic carpet ride

At Epcot there was this fun exhibit with garbage trucks where you had to get rid of all your trash by playing these games and going from station to station. Rexford loved pushing the truck around.

Here we are getting ready to drive our diggers

Our certificate, we did okay and made a golf course

Another Cute Rexford Story

Last week Rexford helped my Dad plant a tree in the backyard. He was using this little shovel and it was really pointy and sharp and he kept carrying pointing up. I kept reminding him to always point sharp things down and I told him that it could poke his eye and that would hurt and that wouldn't be good. Since then he keeps telling me about it.
Then on Saturday he said, " I have to be careful at Papa's house. I don't want to poke my eye. Then I won't have one."
I told him yes he has be careful with sharp things.
Then he said, "I won't have an eye anymore. Then I could borrow your eye."
I couldn't help but laugh :)

Rexford Quotes

Rexford's prayer the other night:

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for today
Thank you for dinner
Thank you for highers in the sky (a game where Brian throws him in the air)
Jesus Christ, amen.
(It's amazing how each night he comes up with different and unique things to say in his prayer. He always says something from the day like, thank you for sea world, or family home evening. It's so sweet.)

Today Alyson and I were talking about a message on Facebook from my aunt in Alabama where she was joking about cow tipping. Rexford says, "No it's not cow tipping!! It's tractor tipping! It's not cow tipping Aly, it's tractor tipping!" (He totally thinks everything from Cars is real! He also asked me if we could go see the Piston Cup race with Lightning McQueen one day :) )

Also of note, Rexford has been calling Daddy Brian a lot lately. It makes me laugh every time. He tells me that I am Timbery or Timmy (because I am Ian and Shaelyn's aunt or as he says, "they're your aunt").

Water Balloons

Yesterday when I took Austin to the doctor Rexford got to play with Aunt Aly. One of the fun things they did was play with water balloons. Today Rexford wanted to do more water balloons so after going grocery shopping, Aly and Rexford had more water balloon fun. Half of the ones he threw didn't break so he would just keep throwing them over and over. He thinks it is funny when a balloon has a hole in it and today he used it to squirt Christina. Lots of fun!

Shots

I took Austin to the doctor yesterday for his six month checkup and he weighed in the 90th percentile at 20 lbs. 6 oz (what Rexford weighed at 4 months) and dropped to 50th percentile for his length being 26.5 inches (also what Rexford was at 4 months). He was very good about the whole doctor visit and four shots in his cute little thighs. He smiled at everyone and was a very friendly happy boy. He didn't want to lay down though and the doctor was very impressed that he can sit up by himself so well. He was very brave for his shots, just a little crying and he was fine when I picked him up. While he was lying there getting shots, he lifted his head and body up to look down and see what the nurse was doing. After I picked him up he even gave the nurse big smiles so then she didn't feel so bad. He has been a little quieter, tired, clingy, and warm since the shots but still pretty pleasant. He also happens to have a yucky cold so that is making him a little out of sorts too. He's healthy and doing well and we're happy :)

Austin relaxing at home after his shots. After giving Austin some Tylenol Rexford said that he wanted shots so he could have Tylenol too.

Splish Splash

Rexford and Austin love to take a bath together. After Austin was done I let him sit up in the tub with Rexford and they had so much fun together. They laughed and splashed and didn't want to get out. Austin loves to splash Rexford and watches him for a reaction. Rexford loves to be silly and make Austin giggle. I couldn't back up to get both of them in the shot the whole time because I had to hold Austin up but you can hear them laugh and see Austin splash away and it's pretty cute.

Rexford's Collection

Rexford loves to ride his tricycle and wants to go out for a walk every night. When we go he likes to stop and pick up things to put in the back of his tricycle. He insists on stopping every time he sees sticks, rocks, flowers, leaves, etc. and he hops off and adds them to his collection. His little bucket on the back is now full but he continues to add things he finds. He is always so excited about each little thing he finds and it's really cute.
Here's Rexford with his collection

Go Cougars!

The other day the boys were both dressed in their BYU hats and shirts so I snapped some pictures. Austin smiles and laughs at Rexford a lot. Rexford was playing with his fire station and fire trucks of course so he was a bit distracted but smiled a little.

I'll smile but I won't look at the camera :)

He looks really thin here and older :(

Austin sticks out his tongue a lot, he's for sure teething

All Aboard!

After missing out on a much anticipated train ride at a recent Easter event because the wait was too long and then missing out on another train because it wasn't open for several more hours, Rexford finally got to ride a train today. We met up with our fun friends, Stacy, Gavin, and Lauren for a ride. Rexford had so much fun and wanted to ride again but since it costs money we'll save a second trip for another day :) He wanted me to come on the train too so Stacy and I rode in the caboose. Austin hung out with Aly on a bench while we enjoyed our ride. The train engineer even gave the kids a lollipop after the ride. Thanks Taits for joining us today! I'm sure Stacy's pics are better but here's what I've got.

Here we go!

Sorry about the lighting and brightness of this photo. I had to mess with it to be able to see Stacy and me at all. It was so dark so I had to lighten it so much to see us but there we are :)
