Tag

One of my college roommates, Brooke, tagged me so here goes.

Here are the rules:
1. link the person who tagged you
2. post these rules
3. tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

My Quirks:

1. I eat certain snacks in my own way. When I eat Lucky Charms I eat all the boring brown pieces first and then I put all the marshmallows in my mouth at once and eat them. When I eat M&Ms I like to have the same number of each color. So I sort them out and then eat all the extras so I have the same amount of each one. Then I take one of each color and eat them until they are all gone.

2. I don't like to get rid of/delete things. I just can't do it very easily. I have saved every picture Rexford has colored/painted and lots of cards, souvenirs, etc. I know I should just keep one or two and throw the rest away but it's hard for me to do. I also have trouble deleting bad digital pictures. Even if they're not very good and I'm not going to use them I just can't get rid of them. Brian wants me to get rid of some pictures of him but I can't do it. It's really hard for me when we go get Rexford's pictures taken somewhere because I like all of them and I know they're going to throw the ones I don't get away.

3. I can't stand when clothes get dirty. I know kids' clothes get dirty but it bothers me even when Rexford's play clothes get messed up. I take off his clothes when he eats because I don't want his clothes to get dirty. Brian's family makes fun of me but why have stains when you don't have to. Now that he is older he eats most meals clothed but I still take them off for dinner because it's usually messy. When we go out and I can't strip him down I take an oversized t-shirt to put over his clothes.

4. I don't eat condiments. No mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup. I like my hot dogs, hamburgers, and sandwiches plain.

5. I can't shop without a list. I am totally lost without my list even though it essentially has the same things on it each week with a few exceptions. Even though I go down the same aisles and buy the same things, I always forget something and shopping takes longer without my list.

6. I have to sleep with a box fan on now. I never used to need one but since being married to Brian who always has one on, I now can't sleep without it. It's too quiet without it and I need it on. If it's too cold at night and we don't use I have a harder time sleeping.

Sunday Afternoon

After dinner we decided to go play in the backyard. Here are some videos and pictures to show our fun evening.

First we played some golf with Rexford's new set of cheapy golf clubs. He's not really sure how to hold the clubs so it's kind of funny. Here's a video of Rexford playing golf.

Then Rexford found a lizard in his sandbox and so Brian picked it up. Here's a video that ends with Rexford scared and crying when the lizard jumps out of Brian's hands and runs away.

After the lizard incident, Rexford was a little scared and wanted to sit on Daddy's lap. I've been meaning to get some video of him doing funny things and talking. Here's a video of Rexford trying to whistle and one saying our favorite phrase, "I love you." He tells us this every night when we put him to bed and it's so cute.

After he recovered he decided to play in his little house. Here's a video where Rexford pretends he's ringing the doorbell and says, "Hi Rexford, how are you today?"

Silly Videos

Here are a couple of videos of Rexford running around being silly. He loves to watch videos of friends and family on their blogs and likes to watch himself too. So I thought I would put these up for him and any other little kids who like to watch kid videos.

Growing

Rexford outgrew his carseat recently so we had to buy a new one. He was too tall for the old one and very near the 40 lb limit. After hours of internet research I decided on this carseat and we got it today. Rexford was very excited and wanted to sit in it and try it out. Later on I found him just sitting in it watching tv. It is very comfortable and very simple to adjust and install so I think we like it!

I like my new big boy carseat!

I really enjoyed playing with the box too!
It made a great little house and I also used it as a drum.

Where's Rexford?

I Help Daddy

Rexford loves to help Daddy take out the trash. He wants to help him with whatever he's doing and says, "I help Daddy." Last night he got to help and I took some pictures. He was so excited and proud of himself.

Universal

Rexford wanted to share his latest favorite home video to watch. It's from the Barney show at Universal. Aunt Alyson took the video and now Rexford has discovered that we have it on the computer and wants to watch it all the time!

We are so lucky to have passes to Aquatica, Sea World, and Universal and I am trying to go have fun with Rexford often before the baby comes. I'm sure it will be difficult to get out this often with two so we're trying to enjoy our fun time together now. He is really enjoying the rides a lot lately. For the past several months there were two rides that he wouldn't go on but last week he went on them and seemed to enjoy them. I was so proud of him for trying them with me. Now if we could get him to not be afraid when characters get too close. He loves to watch Barney on the stage but does not like it when Barney is in the playground and comes close to say hello. Here are a few pictures from one of our Universal visits.

Rexford Update

Well I have some pictures from the last month that I like but they don't really fit into anything to write about. I thought I might eventually have my blog made into a book since I'm not doing so well on keeping up with my scrapbooking. So I thought I'd add the pictures and write a little about what Rexford's been up to this month. I was really good at writing down his milestones his first year but not this year.

Rexford is talking a ton! He now speaks in 3-4 word sentences and is getting quite a large vocabulary. Some of his favorite things to say this month are:
Otay (okay)
I love you Daddy
Watch Daddy weedwacker
Turn on tv, watch Word World
Go Papa's house
See more diggers
Hear fire truck
Go in the kitchen
Mommy hold you
___ right there or right here
Lizard where are you
watch choo choo train, computer
lay down on pillow
go outside
come on
get up
eat Kix in hand
Hello Hi
Goodbye, _______(whoever he is talking to)
Mommy turn, Daddy turn, your turn
Thank you
Put it away
I'm all done
chocolate milk
have some
chicken nuggets, french fries, happy meal, old mcdonalds
cup of water
baby bird hold it
no cats out there
kitty cat meow
see garbage truck
pink bus, blue bus, green bus, purple bus, school bus (he identifies these when driving)
ready set go
on mark, get set, go
1, 2, 3
go higher more
water park, wave pool

He also has been making car/truck/bus/machine noises when he sees them and today he was trying to imitate the edger noise. He knows the name of all Daddy's lawn tools and was very impatient last night, screaming "edger" over and over. He loves to watch him work in the yard. He also loves tools and can name all of his play tools - hammer, pliers, wrench, screwdriver. He loves to play with my dad's bicycle pump. He is getting so tall and big. I don't know how tall he is but he is wearing a size 9 shoe and even has one pair of size 10 shoes. I think he's about 37 pounds now.

I can't believe he'll be two in a couple of months and I can't believe how much he can talk and how much he knows. He knows the names of some of his church friends-Lauren, Gavin, Caleb, and Carson. He says words all the time that I had no idea he knew and he remembers everything! For a week after Sea World, he said, "watch Papa Aly rollercoaster, Shamu ride" which means he saw Papa and Aly ride the rollercoaster and the Shamu ride. Whenever he sees a cat he always tells me that his friend Bennett has a cat and he hasn't been to his house since before Easter.

Rexford reminds us to say prayers everyday and wants to say them all the time. He tells me to say prayer before we pull out of the driveway and when we eat and when he goes to sleep. It's very cute. He folds his arms and says, "say prayer." Then he says amen at the end. He's so grown up!

Here are some pictures from this month.

Rexford wearing my boots watching tv. He loves to try on our shoes. Brian's shoes are too big and heavy so he prefers to walk around in mine.

Eating a fudge pop for the first time and loving it.

Rexford playing his computer game that Grandma and Grandpa Ursic got him for Christmas. He loves it and asks for "game" all the time.

More Sea World

My sister Alyson took these pictures last week and I just got them from her and thought they were really cute.

We Love Sea World

Rexford loves going to Sea World and Papa and Aly went with us last week which he loved even more. My brother Caleb is a photographer at Sea World so if you see him there, let him take your picture! He took a few pictures for us and they turned out pretty cute.

Fun With Aly

Rexford loves all of his aunts and uncles and loves to see them often. He gets to see Aunt Aly more than anyone lately. They have been having lots of fun these past few weeks. They flew a kite at the park, played in the backyard, went to Sea World and Aquatica, and lots of other fun stuff. Here a couple of fun videos.
