Pumpkin Painting and Baking

Since Monday night was ruined with Rexford's accident, Rexford wanted to paint his pumpkin the next day. He loves to use lots of colors and had so much fun painting the entire pumpkin. Then we made some pumpkin cookies and of course he liked eating those.

Rexford's Accident

Austin got a cute Mickey Mouse airplane toy for his birthday that you ride on. Rexford likes it too. Monday night Brian and I were in the kitchen and we heard Rexford scream and then start crying. We went in the living room to find him with a bloody chin. Brian took him to the bathroom and told me he thought it was deep and it needed stitches. I guess he was riding the toy backwards and flipped forward smacking his chin on the hard tile floor. So, Brian took him to Centra Care where they waited for over TWO hours. Brian was very angry by the time he got home and had waited half the time outside the place trying to avoid catching something from the coughing, yucky sick people in the waiting room. Luckily, they were able to use Dermabond on his chin and Rexford was fine. Rexford has now been going around saying that Daddy hates doctors (something I am sure Brian said a few times while waiting).

Rexford shows everyone his chin now so here it is a few days after the incident

Green Meadows Farm

We had been wanting to visit Green Meadows Farm for awhile but then the kids got sick but we finally got to go! Rexford was so excited to ride the train and the pony and go for the hayride and pick out a pumpkin. Austin had lots of fun chasing all of the animals. It is hard to take pictures and chase kids so I don't really have many of him. He was constantly moving all over the place! It was dirty and required lots of cleaning up afterward but we had fun!

Austin is so happy

Austin on his first pony ride - it was hard to take a picture and keep hands on him so it's not a very good pic

Rexford's first pony ride - I couldn't get a picture of him either because I was holding on to Austin so this is the best I've got

They had this big fire truck and Rexford was of course so excited to play on it

Fun with Wally

My boys love to play with my sister Shannon's dog, especially Austin now that he can run around and chase him. Austin has been trying to give Wally kisses for a week now. He bends down with his mouth open and usually Wally just runs away. After my dad's birthday cake Austin and Rexford had so much fun playing with Wally and his toys.

They played ball together

Checked each other out

Gave kisses
Austin liked Wally's toys a lot (yuck :) )
Rexford likes to stand on the squeaky toys and make noise (sorry Wayne!)

Enjoying a drink after playing hard

Papa's Birthday

Rexford loves birthdays and so he was excited to decorate Papa's birthday cake by himself. He made him a birthday card and helped him blow out the candles.

Sea World with Uncle Caleb

We were playing around at Papa's one Saturday and Caleb asked if we wanted to go to Sea World. So Papa, Caleb, Rexford and I went for a few hours. It was his first time around the park without a stroller! It is fun going with Caleb because he works there and we got to feed the dolphins and get up close which we usually don't get to do. Rexford wasn't in a good mood though by that point and was tired so he was a mess during the dolphin fun. I had fun though :) He took some fun pictures of Rexford throughout the day. Thanks Caleb for the pictures and a fun day!

Trunk-or-Treat

On Friday night we had our church Trunk or Treat party. Rexford loved the games-fishing for candy, bean bag toss, and pumpkin bowling were his favorites. His most favorite part was going from car to car and getting candy. He had a full pumpkin at the end of the night and was so happy.

My attempt to get a picture of them together - you can see it didn't work very well :)

I guess a 2 hour nap wasn't enough...

Austin has always been good about going to sleep when he's tired-in the sling, stroller, car, shopping cart, wave pool, etc. I knew he was definitely still sick when he fell asleep on the floor playing with toys after just waking up from a nap! So cute though :)

Bad Morning

The day started out with Rexford crying when he woke up which is not a good sign. He cried while Brian got ready for work, he cried after Brian left for about 2 hours! He screamed, cried, yelled that he wanted his daddy to stand up and hold him. I tried to talk to him, comfort him, anything, but he still cried. I think he was still not himself from being sick. It was so awful I was ready to call Brian and tell him he needed to take the rest of the day off and come home! After about 2 hours of this my phone rang and I picked it up and talked for a few minutes. After I hung up I went back out there to check on him because it was quiet. He had fallen asleep sitting up on the couch. He slept for a few minutes and then when he woke up he was fine! Totally normal. So we painted and played with play-doh with no problems. Weird, huh?
