Rexford's First Day of Pre-K

Today was Rexford's first day of preschool and it went well! He was excited and didn't cry or care that I was leaving. I think he had a good day. He told me about the playground, and playing with play dough, and coloring, and that his teacher read them a book. He was a little concerned about a little girl going to the office. He told me that she wasn't making good choices and that he hoped she was okay. He told me that he wished his school didn't have an office and that he wanted to stay home with me tomorrow because he didn't want to go to the office. We talked about it and he's fine now. He seemed to really enjoy the activities so hopefully the office thing doesn't bother him tomorrow and he'll have another fun day. Can't believe he's already in preschool!

Open House

Last Thursday we went to Rexford's preschool to meet his teacher and see the classroom. He was excited and loved the classroom and all the neat things there. He took his camera that he got for his birthday and took pictures.

Rock Springs

I went with some of the girls from church to Rock Springs in July. I didn't bring my camera but my brother-in-law Wayne brought my dad's waterproof camera and took a shot of me. I was a little nervous about touching the bottom and encountering creatures but it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed relaxing on the tube.

Toy Box

The other day I found Austin climbing into the toy box and it was too cute not to take some pictures. Of course then Rexford wanted to get in too. This made it a little crowded but the boys had fun making silly faces and playing together. I love my boys!

Jacksonville Visit

Our last week of summer arrived and we decided to take one day and drive to Jacksonville so the boys could play with their cousins for the day. They did really well in the car but were definitely glad to get out when we got there. They had all day to play and they had so much fun. Ethan and Rexford played Wii games, played with toys, played on the computer, painted, and made lots of fun noise! Austin had lots of fun playing with new toys and his cousins Ava and Zach and he even took a nap while we were there. In the evening we got them ready for bed and drove home and they slept the whole way. Thanks Audrey and Eric for letting us visit, we had a fun day!

Sick Summer

Happily now that I am posting all of our summer pictures, Brian has recovered from his summer-long illness. The first week of summer he became very sick and just slept all the time, had body aches, fever, chills, no appetite. After weeks of testing, they figured out he had CMV, a virus related to mono. It caused him to be sick almost the entire summer. We are so happy that it was a virus and not something worse and that he's pretty much back to normal, minus a few pounds he needs to put back on :) Anyway, our niece Shaelyn made Brian this cute card on the day he went for an ultrasound to see if he could have a tumor or something and he was really feeling terrible and it made him happy so we took a picture to remember it.

Ice Skating

Rexford's cousin Shaelyn just turned 8 and we got to go to her ice skating party. Rexford had never been ice skating and was very excited. He fell a few times and cried a couple of times but did pretty well overall. We went around about 8 times and he even went around once without holding my hand. He was very proud of himself for sticking to it and getting a little better by the end. He had a great time and wants to go again sometime soon!

Daddy's Vacation

Before summer Brian planned a trip to Dallas to visit his best friend Bill in July. Then he got sick and we weren't sure he was going to be able to go. Luckily he started to feel better although still not back to normal but he got to go have a boys weekend. I was very nervous that he would do too much and come home sick right in time for our family vacation. But he was feeling okay and so they were able to play golf and tennis and have a fun time. He didn't take any pictures there but here is a picture of the little countdown I made for Rexford so he would know when Daddy was coming home. Brian doesn't go away often so when he left, Rexford kept asking me when he was coming home so I decided to make a little picture chart for him. It helped a lot and Rexford loved crossing off things and telling me that Daddy would be home after this and this and this... He was so excited to go pick Daddy up from the airport and the boys loved the M&Ms he brought for them!

Father's Day Pictures (2 months late:) )

Here are some cute pictures from Father's Day which aren't the best quality because I took them from my dad's account on Facebook. But I thought they were cute anyway. I realize it's way after Father's Day that I am posting them but just wanted to have them saved on here.

Cars Fun/Fight :)

Austin has been sleeping when we play with the color changing cars but we let him play one day and this is what happened. I was able to convince Rexford to let Austin have the Lightning McQueen car and then Austin was happy :)

Pie Eating Contest

At our last ward activity they had a pie eating contest. I was very surprised when I found out Rexford was at the table participating. He is shy in public and won't do anything he thinks is embarrassing like doing hand motions to songs or marching in a parade. I didn't have my camera but I found this picture on facebook so I have a picture of it now. He didn't win but he had a great time eating mostly whipped cream! He loved the party and talked about it for days.

Splash Pad

It's been a pretty hot summer so we've tried to stay near the water! The boys love this splash pad with lots of water sprayers and stuff to run through. I wore my bathing suit and played too because it's just too gross not to be in the water :)

Little Helpers

Our car really needed washed after vacation so Brian and the boys went to work. It was Austin's first time helping wash the car and he loved it! Rexford always loves washing the car and would do it every day if we let him. A big thanks to my helpful boys!

Marineland

While we were in Palm Coast on vacation we spent one morning visiting Uncle Caleb at Marineland, where he is working as a dolphin trainer. It was only about 5 minutes from where we were staying and worked out perfectly. The boys loved seeing him and we enjoyed the "behind the scenes" tour he gave us. Rexford got to feed the baby dolphins some jello and see Dazzle, the dolphin that did a painting that Caleb gave Rexford for his birthday. Thanks Caleb for the fun day!
