Football Fans

Rexford loves to watch and play football and Austin is starting to follow. They love to play football outside or throw a soft one inside with Daddy. Austin always goes and gets his BYU hat and puts it on and then gets the football and runs to us saying, "Play football me." Rexford loves to catch the ball and then run for a touchdown and he loves when Daddy chases him and tries to take the ball.

Christmas with Grandma and Great-Grandma

We were supposed to get together with my mom two days before Christmas but she was really sick so we ended up doing it two days after Christmas on Christina's birthday. We met at Shannon's house and had lots of fun playing Christmas Bingo and winning prizes, and snacking on Christmas treats. They boys loved their presents from Grandma and Great-Grandma and had fun playing with them all morning. What a fun day!

Christmas with the Ursics

Unfortunately, I don't have very many pictures of the get-together with the Ursic side of the family either. We had a yummy dinner and then the kids excitedly opened presents and then had fun playing with all of them!

Rexford got a game, a Cars game, and a Leapster Explorer (he plays this all the time!)
Austin got a car, a remote control car,
and a ride-on digger! So fun!

Christmas at Papa's

Somehow I have no pictures from Christmas at my Dad's house. I think I was too busy watching and helping kids open gifts all at once. As we do every year, my dad made a yummy breakfast casserole and Shannon made cinnamon rolls and we all went over mid-morning. Then the little cousins gave each other gifts. Matthew gave Rexford and Austin hockey sticks and balls and they have had lots of fun with them. They take a big bucket and use it as a goal in our yard. Little Anderson gave the boys new color changing cars for their Cars set and they play with them all the time!

Then it was time for gifts from Papa. Rexford got a new outfit (he calls it the Georgia Bulldog shirt because it has black, red, and white stripes) and a remote control car he'd been asking for that actually drives on the water too! We took it over to Shannon and Wayne's house to test it out in their pool and it worked! Rexford loves it and drives it all over and can't wait to drive it in the pool again. Here's a video of Rexford driving his car in the pool.

Austin got Cars pajamas (he was so excited he tried to take off his clothes and put them on right there :) he loves them!) and Chuck and Friends Stunt park with little motorized cars that do stunts on the track and bridge. He plays with it all the time and Rexford likes it too. Austin even sleeps with the cars some nights :)

After playing and hanging out we went out to visit more family. We came back over in the evening to see Caleb and Catie once they got in town. They were sweet and brought the boys new sweatshirts from Marineland. The boys love that they have dolphins on them and they look so cute in them, and they loved seeing Caleb and Catie.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was fun this year and Austin was much more excited and into it than he was last year. The boys actually slept until 7:30am and I was up before them and able to get ready for the day. They were so excited to open their gifts and see what was inside. They liked seeing each other's presents and playing with them. We had a great morning together!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Pajamas

We let the boys open one present on Christmas and they were SO excited when they opened their boxes to find new pajamas. You can't tell in the picture very well but Rexford got Steelers pajamas and Austin got Spiderman pajamas. Rexford said, "Mom, you always pick the perfect gift." Austin started taking off his clothes to put on his new pjs. They loved them and it was so fun to see them so excited. Here's a picture I took of them wearing their new pajamas getting ready to go to bed so Santa could come!

Christmas Cookies

We went to Shannon's house one morning to make Christmas sugar cookies with the kids. It was very messy but I think everyone had fun :) We rolled out the dough and let the boys use the cookie cutters and add sprinkles to some. We let them ice some and that was really messy but yummy. Matthew gave up on icing them and just ate them :) Our first batch was a little too done but the rest came out great. I love making Christmas cookies and it was fun to do with the boys.

Brian's Steelers Birthday

Rexford really wanted Brian to have a Steelers birthday so he helped me make a Steelers cake and picked out sports plates and candles. When it was time for cake, Rexford and Austin put on their Steelers shirts and were so excited. Rexford wanted the cake to be green like a football field so we colored the cake batter green. Then he wanted chocolate icing, like a football so I made some yummy icing. Then he helped me draw the logo on the cake and decorate it. The boys were dying to eating the cake and could hardly wait until Grandma and Grandpa Ursic came over for our tiny party to begin. Happy Birthday Brian, we love you!

Milk and Cookies with Santa

We got to go meet Santa at Rexford's school one night. The kids did crafts and Christmas stuff while we waited until it was our turn to go see Santa. Rexford was excited this year and not afraid at all. He climbed right up on Santa's lap. Austin didn't mind being in the same room but did not want to sit on his lap. We tried to get him to just look at the camera but he was not cooperative this year :) We got our pictures taken, told Santa what we wanted for Christmas, got a fun little goody bag, and then headed outside to enjoy some yummy cookies and hot chocolate! It was a cold but fun evening and I'm so glad Rexford enjoyed seeing Santa this year.

Family picture with Santa. Austin's doing his shy face and closing his eyes because I think he believes if he does then whatever he's scared of can't see him either :)

Gingerbread House

Rexford had been wanting to decorate a gingerbread house since he saw them in the store when we were shopping. So the week of Christmas I finally bought one and let the kids have fun with it. They decorated it by themselves - well Rexford did most of the decorating and Austin kept eating the candy instead of putting it on the house :) They had lots of fun putting the candy on and then eating it off!
