Valentine's Day

Usually Valentine's Day would include heart-shaped foods and a little gift for the kids but we moved into our new house the day before so that was impossible. I had none of my kitchen stuff unpacked or anything like that. I didn't want to just buy toys but I wanted to do something for the kids so I went to the store late the night before to pick up a few things. I picked up some books for them and a few Cars cars for Rexford and some blocks for Austin. Neither of them realized it was Valentine's day because of all the moving chaos but Rexford was so excited when he woke up to find his little gift bag! Austin was excited about the books - he loves to read all the time! He liked the blocks too once we got them open and he could tell what they were :)

Rexford's New Blue Room

Rexford was so excited to help paint his new room! It's much too blue for Brian and he was freaking out for a couple of days :) but now I think he's adjusted. I love it and think it looks great. I'll have to take some pictures of the finished room once I hang his stuff on the walls. This picture isn't exactly the right color and it's fuzzy since I took it without much light. I'll post new pics of the room soon.

Fun Time

Rexford used to love to go to Kangaroom, a bounce house place, and since they closed we haven't been to any other ones. I learned that it had re-opened with new owners and is now called Fun Time so we decided to try it out one day. I was excited because Austin is old enough to enjoy it too. As always, I got a work-out from climbing up over and over and over! We had fun so I think we'll try it again soon.

Matthew had fun too
Rexford loved the big slide! We spent most of the time going up and down it over and over. Austin and Matthew looked scared at first but had lots of fun going down on their mommy's laps.

Toy Time

We didn't want to drive Grandma and Grandpa Ursic crazy :) so we got out of the house every morning for a bit. One day we went to the science center to check out the new toy exhibit. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast! They had dominoes, sailboats, fishing, a rollercoaster to put cars on, a house to build, and spinning tops.

Austin and Rexford fishing - Rexford loved this the best and stayed here almost the entire time

The sailboats were fun and the kids liked feeling the wind from the fans

We ventured over to the dinosaur room where Matthew supervised the boys while they were digging for fossils

Moving Out Day

A lot of people didn't really know about it but we sold our house on January 27th and moved out the next Wednesday on Feb. 3rd. We really wanted a garage and attic space and so we found a cute new house close by. Moving is of course a pain, especially with kids. We started packing weeks before but there were a lot of things we couldn't pack until the last minute. Rexford was really excited about the whole thing and wanted to help with everything from packing boxes to loading the truck. Austin was confused and didn't quite understand where all of his toys and room decorations kept going. It was a little sad on moving day. We were excited about the new house but it's always weird to move and leave behind a house we worked so hard on and where our kids have lived since they were born. It was weird too because our new house wasn't ready yet and so we moved all of our stuff into the new garage but then couldn't stay there. Brian's parents were wonderful and let us crash with them for a little over a week. They fed us, let us take over their televisions, had their house messed up by two wild boys :), and his mom washed and ironed our clothes! We had it pretty easy :) Austin was so confused and kept going to the door wanting to go home when he got tired but Rexford seemed to do well. We were finally able to move into our new house on Feb. 12th (well, we painted that night and moved in the next day but we're still not quite done moving in). I'll post pictures of the new place later but here are some pictures of the boys helping Daddy load the big truck.

Austin enjoyed sitting at the top of the ramp

Rexford loved helping!

Austin thought the truck ramp was a climbing toy

They had lots of fun walking up and down the ramp

Teddy Time

Austin likes to play with his teddy bear from Aunt Shannon. He gives it hugs and kisses and carries it around. One day a few weeks ago he put him on the sit n spin toy and thought it was so funny to watch him spin and fall off :)

TV time

Sometimes, though it is rare, I can get the boys to sit together on the couch and watch a show on tv for just a few minutes while I try to get something done. Here they a few weeks ago enjoying an episode of Thomas together - both with their blankets :)
