Pink Eye

Rexford has his first case of pink eye. It's pretty yucky and just appeared yesterday. This morning we also found it in his other eye. Luckily the doctor called in some drops for him yesterday so we have plenty (it's difficult to get them in his eyes though). Today he developed a fever and didn't look well. Luckily he likes Tylenol so that is easy to get in him. He looks way better in these pictures than he did yesterday when his eye was so swollen that I couldn't actually see the eye. I really hope it goes away soon and that I don't get it too.

We couldn't go swimming like we normally do on Saturday because of the pink eye so Rexford colored a picture for Daddy

Fire Truck

Rexford has a fire truck toy that stays at papa's house but to get him in the car the other day I told him he could bring it home for a few days. He's been playing with it constantly and every time we drive anywhere he looks for fire trucks (and diggers). Today after his nap he started playing with it and decided to try to ride it. He said, "I ride fire truck" and then asked me "am I too big for this?" Then he kept saying, "I need a big big big fire truck." Here he is.

Missing Daddy

Brian left yesterday morning to fly to Washington to help his brother drive the Uhaul all the way to Jacksonville. He's been gone for two days and it feels like forever. Yesterday Rexford asked for him a couple of times but today he has asked for him a lot! He is having fun playing with family and we have tried to keep busy but in quiet moments he'll say, "where Daddy go?" and "nobody here" and "daddy helping uncle eric." If he hears a noise he says, "Daddy home" and I have to explain that he's not home yet. He really wanted to talk to him tonight before bed and kept saying, "daddy call back" but we weren't able to reach him because they were in a part of Montana with no reception and Rexford got tired so he went to bed. I told him we could talk to him tomorrow hopefully.

Earlier today he got really mad about something and so I bent down to talk to him and said "I know you're mad." He looked down and I said, "I know you're sad because you miss daddy" and he said, "yeah" and he came up to me and gave me the biggest hug ever. It was really sad but cute too.

We have tried to keep busy so we went to Sea World yesterday and then Aly played with him all day. Today we went to Chuck E Cheese's and had pizza and played games. Then we went to Rexford's favorite place for dinner-Old McDonalds, as he calls it. We're having some fun but we can't wait for Daddy to come home!!!

Rexford and Mommy with the big horse. He is very interested in horses and animals but when we got close to it he wouldn't pet it.

Rexford wouldn't go on this ride by himself so Aly got in with him. It snaps your picture while you ride it.

First Day of Summer

Today was the first day that Brian had off for summer. We decided to go to Aquatica for a few hours in the morning. On the way there we had to stop at the bank so we were driving alongside the Beeline (now Beachline but whatever) and Rexford says, "Get on Beeline." I turned around and asked him to say it again because that couldn't be what he really said and then he said it again. "I see Beeline, right there, get on Beeline." I couldn't believe he knew the word Beeline or that he knew the road right there was the Beeline. He is way too grown up! It also tells you that we drive that road way too much for him to know it and we do drive it about once a week. He does recognize sights and things around town so I guess it's not crazy for him to know the road but I was totally blown away. Anyway, just had to blog that story so I don't forget it 20 years from now. So we had a lot of fun at the water park and Rexford loved having Daddy there since it's usually just me.

It rained in the afternoon and after dinner Brian was getting tired of doing "higher" (he lifts Rexford up in the air and bounces him on his legs) so we decided to go play tennis. We really need to get Rexford a racket his size but he had fun for a little while. Then I took him over to swing at the playground where he discovered the fire station and enjoyed watching the fire trucks. Here are some pictures of our evening.

It's A Boy!

We went this morning to have an ultrasound to find out what we're having and it turns out it's another boy! It was fun to go and see him in 3d/4d. We could see him move his arms and legs and he had his hands in front of his little face. He was curled up and gave us a good view of his little parts. Here's Rexford's little brother!

Here he is all curled up

Here are his legs and feet

Here is a picture of his open hand. We couldn't really get a clear shot of the face because he was hiding behind his hands.

Day at Disney

Last Wednesday we got to go to Disney with Alyson, Christina, and Papa. Rexford had a blast and loved the race cars and train the best. He loves to watch videos from this visit and tell us all about the blue race car he rode in with Papa. Thanks Alyson for a fun day!
