Laughter

Today Rexford and Austin were playing and laughing together and I caught some of it on video. I love it when they laugh. It's so cute and always makes me smile. Rexford gets annoyed at Austin a lot for getting into his toys but he can make Austin laugh like no one else.

p.s. I normally don't encourage putting things on their heads but since it was an open basket with holes in it I let it slide.

Miami

Tonight at dinner Rexford asked us if the blimp was outside in the sky and Brian said, "no, it went back to Miami." Rexford then turned to me and said, "Mommy, is the blimp in Daddy's ami?" We thought that was pretty funny :) I'm sure he was confused and wondering what in the world was an "ami." I had to explain to him that Miami was the name of a place where the blimp lives.

Cousins

Rexford likes to hold his new cousin Matthew. It's so funny how he tells him, "don't cry baby, it's okay" and "I'm taking care of you." He also said, "come here chubby baby." It's fun to watch him, he's getting so grown up and Matthew is getting a little chub on him :)

Thomas Time

While Daddy slept in on Father's Day, we played with Rexford's Thomas tent. It was Austin's first time in the tent and he liked it for awhile. But then he kept trying to climb out and Rexford wanted him in there. It was kind of crowded because Rexford brought all of his blankets and stuffed animals in there so it's no surprise that Austin wanted out.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Brian, Papa, and Grandpa Ursic! We had a fun day with lots of family. This morning Rexford made Daddy muffins for breakfast and gave him the card he picked out all by himself. He also gave him new tennis balls which he picked out by himself too. After church we had dinner with Papa and then went to Grandpa Ursic's house for dessert.

Here are the boys with Daddy before church today.

We love you Brian!

We got my dad a new tie with all three grandchildren on it since the last one he had just has Rexford on it. It was amazing that we were able to put all three kids together and not have one of them crying. They weren't all smiling but at least they looked content. Here is the photo we put on the tie.

The Goodyear Blimp

Our friend Stacy told us yesterday that you could go right up close to the Goodyear blimp at the Orlando Executive Airport this week. Rexford likes to watch the blimp when it flies around here and we live very close so we drove over this morning. They have a crew member there all the time and he came out and gave us some information, talked to us, and took our picture. Rexford liked it until one of the blowers came on and the noise frightened him. After that he didn't want to be so close. The picture was taken right after the blower incident so he looks a little scared. It was fun and he keeps asking me if he can see it when it takes off. He wanted to go again to see the blimp this afternoon so my dad took him but this time he didn't want to get out of the car. He also really enjoyed watching the small planes take off at the airport. Thanks Stacy for the info!

Church Carnival

Thursday night we went to a carnival at our church. It was pretty hot and yucky outside but Rexford had a blast having his face painted and jumping in the bounce house. He had Aunt Shannon paint his face a few times. First he got a caterpillar and a paw print and then stars. He kept telling us over and over on the way home, "Aunt Shannon did a good job painting my cheeks. That was a fun carnival."

Airplanes

We were at a goodbye party for some friends (we'll miss you Gunnersons :( ) the other night and Rexford liked watching the planes coming to land at the airport. Brian told him he would take him by the airport on the way home to get a closer look so we drove over. There wasn't much going on but he got to see a few planes land and take off. Brian told him we would go back during the day to see more and that was all he talked about all day today! He kept asking when we could go see lots of planes. This afternoon we picked up some subs and then headed out for a little picnic dinner and to watch the planes. We watched from a great spot for a bit and then headed over to a park by the airport that has a big B52. I've lived here my whole life and never knew it was there. Then we drove over to another area to try and see some more planes. Rexford got a good look at a UPS plane and enjoyed watching them unload the plane and load up the trucks. On the way home we saw a plane coming in to land so we pulled over and let Rexford get out to watch it. He didn't want to leave and has been asking me since if we could go to the airport.

Austin drank his juice and played with his feet most of the time :)

Stuck

Austin is always moving now and follows us wherever we go. He can get around pretty fast and I'm always moving him away from wires, Rexford's toys, hard tile floor, etc. Today he got stuck under his little music table toy. He thought it was fun at first to play peek-a-boo but then got mad after he couldn't get out. Of course, then Rexford wanted a turn to get stuck too.

Welcome Matthew!!!

My sister Alyson had her baby last night around 9:40 something. He was 8 lbs. 14 oz. and 21.5 inches long I think. I got to see him briefly last night around midnight so today I took Rexford to meet his new cousin. He was very excited and he kept telling me after that Matthew was so cute and tiny. He gave him some kisses on his head and asked me when Matthew could come home. While we were there he was telling them all about how his Aunt Audrey had two babies in her tummy and now he has two cousins Ava and Zach. He loves babies and is so sweet to Austin. Matthew was born yesterday, today is Todd and Alyson's anniversary, and tomorrow is Alyson's birthday so they have a busy week!! We're so excited he's here and so happy that everything went smoothly and they're both healthy. We can't wait to see him more and watch him grow!

Sweating at Sea World

Rexford had been asking to go to Sea World so we went yesterday. I wanted to go before kids were out of school and before it was super busy. It was very very hot but the crowds weren't bad especially in the kid area. We got there early and I went on the new rollercoaster MANTA and it was so fun! They turn you so you are facing down like you're flying and there were lots of twists and upside down turns. I would have gone again but I figured I should let Rexford have some fun too. I think we'll stick with Aquatica for the next few months since it's so hot but I'm glad we got a visit in. I guess this is our last trip with Alyson for a while because today she was sent over to the hospital for high blood pressure after her appointment. They're keeping her and are going to induce. We're excited that baby Matthew will be here soon!!

Rexford was excited to see this horse so close since they're usually farther away

Rexford had a blast cooling off in the splash area

I'm sure it felt so good - I wanted to get in too :)

I didn't bring Austin's swim stuff but he was so excited about the water so Aly helped him play

So cute :)

Thanks Aly for getting all wet for Austin :)

Tummy Issues

I thought I would attempt to take the boys somewhere by myself on Monday. I usually bring Aunt Alyson along but she is about to have a baby and I figured she was tired and had stuff to do. I didn't want to bother her and I thought I could handle the kids at the science center by myself. Now that Rexford is potty trained I knew I'd have to make bathroom trips so I decided to just use my little umbrella stroller for Austin so we could easily fit into the small bathrooms. We got there and all was fine. We saw the new Mr. Potato Head exhibit and had lots of fun checking out the new stuff. Then we went down to the kid area to play a little more there. We got hungry so we went to the cafeteria to buy some lunch. I usually bring lunch but since my little stroller has no storage area I didn't have room for a lunch bag too. We were happily eating our lunch when Rexford asked me for water (strange request because he was drinking milk and he always prefers milk and juice over water). I gave him water and then he starts crying and screaming that his stomach hurts. I thought maybe that he had to use the bathroom so I took Austin out of the high chair and carried him while I pushed a crying Rexford in the stroller to the bathroom. He continued to scream and cry that he doesn't need to go and he wants to go home. He just kept saying he wanted to go home and that his stomach hurt. I put Austin back in the stroller with the crazy hope of Rexford walking to the car. Everyone is of course staring at us wondering why my kid who looks like he's four is having such a fit. He was so loud and just kept crying. I put him down so that he could walk and he layed down on the floor and kept crying telling me he can't walk. So I picked him up (45 lbs!) and carried him to the car while pushing the stroller. I managed to get everyone in the car and start driving while he kept reminding me he wanted to go home and go to sleep. After about a minute I look back and he's totally out asleep and he continued to sleep for two hours. I still don't know what was wrong with him(I'm guessing gas pain???) and he was fine when he woke up. I'm so glad I didn't pick this day to go to Sea World by myself. Then I would have had a hot screaming kid far away from home. Luckily the science center is pretty close to home. I think he had fun before the whole stomach incident. Hopefully my next trip out by myself won't involve so much screaming and crying. Here are some pictures before things went downhill.

Putting together Mr. Potato Head

Rexford loved this part and played there for a long time

Astronaut Rexford

Rexford loved this - you push the button and wind starts blowing stuff around

I'm not sure what a lot of these things have to do with Mr. Potato Head but they were fun anyway

I am lucky I could get him anywhere near this big guy - he usually is afraid of life-size characters

After that we went next door to dig for some dinosaur eggs

Then Rexford fixed a car

And cooked a little

And then came lunch. I wish I had a picture of me struggling to get to the car with a screaming 45 lb kid on my hip who is almost as big as me. It might be funny in a few years.
