Two Boys

Yesterday Rexford put his arms around Austin and said to me, "you should get a picture of your two boys." I figured I would get the camera while Rexford actually wanted me to take his picture because a lot of times he will refuse to look at the camera. He tells me all the time that he loves his brother and that Austin loves him. Rexford gets mad when Austin gets into his toys and messes up his stuff. Austin wants everything Rexford has - toys, food, etc. But they have their moments when they are running around the house together laughing and playing. Here are my two handsome boys :)

They look like they are scheming here

Haircut Day

Saturday was haircut day. Austin had a trim before on my lap but today he got to sit in the big boy chair for his cut and watch a show on tv. He was a little squirmy but happy. Rexford of course was fine for his cut and enjoyed a yummy lollipop after he was done. Brian is getting lots of cutting practice and the boys look pretty good :)

All ready for his haircut

This feels weird...

All done!

I guess I can tolerate this for a lollipop...

Football Fans

Here are some pictures to celebrate the win last night. Go Steelers!

Austin on Wheels

Austin is becoming a little climber. Rexford never was - he never climbed out of the crib or anything. Austin tries to climb up the baby gate, the pack n play, steps... The other day while I was putting groceries away I heard him making a lot of noise so I went to check on him. He had climbed up onto Rexford's little power wheels all by himself and was trying to push the button to make it go. He loves to ride it and I usually push the button and help him but I have a feeling pretty soon he won't need my help anymore...

Tennis Time

Rexford likes to play tennis with Daddy in the evenings lately and tonight Austin and I tagged along. Rexford has been practicing hitting the ball and he's doing great!

Return to the Park

We have not been to the park in months because it's just too hot. Rexford keeps asking to go to the park and Sea World and I have been waiting for it to cool down first. Well it didn't cool down yet but I took the kids to the park anyway. It is covered and they can run around and cool off in the splash area so it wasn't too bad I guess. We had lots of fun and Austin enjoyed being able to walk around and explore new things. Rexford had a blast on the swing and the slides and was so happy that Aunt Aly met us there and he got to play with her a little. It turned out to be a great morning!

The boys playing while I got ready this morning

Rexford has grown and doesn't need my help climbing anymore
Down the slide together - Austin wasn't too sure about this but by the end of the morning he loved the slides!

So much fun!
Rexford loves to hang here and wanted me to take a picture

Austin enjoying walking on his own
Robot Rexford
I think he will really enjoy the park this fall and winter
Rexford likes to swing on his tummy now
He really did enjoy it although he looks a little scared here

He was brave and walked all around trying to touch the water
Running just like brother

Labor Day

Rexford has been asking for weeks when our next "hot dog" party would be so we told him we would have a party on Labor Day. We had lots of fun swimming and eating at Shannon and Wayne's. After all that waiting Rexford hardly ate his hot dog but sure enjoyed the chips and cupcake.

That evening Rexford wanted to play tennis with Daddy so Austin and I played in his room - he's very good at basketball already :)

Brian's Dallas Trip

The building where Oswald shot JFK. It seems like there would have been an Oak Tree in the way. It must have not been there in 1963.

This was the poster of a conspiracy theorist who stands at the assassination location for his full -time job. He sells books promoting his views and accepts tips.

The grassy knoll.

Jerry Jones' 1.2 billion dollar baby.

Putting the jumbo in JumboTron.

We wish Sam a speedy recovery.

Congratulations to Max Hall for not choking in a big game.

The post game celebration. The entire event could be classified as a spiritual experience.

Bill, Brian, and Blake.

Going into the game no one expected much. Privately you always dream about pulling off the impossible.
Take that Chipper Jones, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreet!

Me and the Boys

Brian left today to go to Dallas to visit a friend and go to the BYU v. Oklahoma game tomorrow. Rexford was very sad that Daddy left and cried the whole way home from the airport. He watched the plane on the computer and looked for it outside. He felt better after a meal of macaroni and cheese and cheetos though :) We went to a birthday party after that and he had so much fun! It was great and kept him busy. He doesn't quite understand how far away he is because he said he wanted to watch Curious George until Daddy got home. Brian took the camera so hopefully we'll have pictures of his trip to post soon!

Rexford drew this picture earlier today to put in Daddy's suitcase. He drew everything on his own and told me what it was and I labeled it. He made the line from Florida to Texas, some runways, and some planes with wings and pilots. He has just recently started to try to draw specific things instead of scribbling. He's getting so big.

Fun with Aly

Rexford was so happy that Aunt Alyson came over to play today. Matthew took a long nap so he got to play with her. They played fireman, played in his Thomas tent, threw a ball at each other, and laughed a lot. Thanks Aly for coming over and for tiring Rexford out for me-he went to sleep easy and I had to wake him up :)

Rexford

Just a quick post with a cute picture of Rexford from yesterday with his tools. I can't believe he's only barely three. He looks so grown up...
