Sleep
They can be wild and energetic, whiny and pouty, giggly and loud. Then they fall asleep and they're so still and quiet. There's something about when they're so out that just makes them so cute.

Peas, Popcorn, and Flowers
So here's a post of three unrelated things to catch up on photos from this past week. First there's peas-Austin likes them and I took some pictures of him enjoying them the other day. I had been feeding him in the Bumbo seat but I put him in the high chair for the first time and he looked so cute and small.
Next comes popcorn - Rexford loves popcorn now. I'm still a little nervous about kernels but I try to pick out good pieces for him. Every day after naptime Rexford asks me to make popcorn for our afternoon snack. He likes to sit on the rug in the living room and eat it while he watches a show (this week it's Bob the Builder). We've been eating the salt and cracked pepper flavor and it's really good. If you haven't tried it, you should. Actually it's frequently out at the store so maybe we don't want more people buying it :)

Fun Inside and Out
So far this week we have stayed home and relaxed a bit. We did enjoy a trip to Petland yesterday to get out but today we stayed home. If we don't get out it usually means Rexford watches way too much tv. I tried to do other things today and we've had fun. We painted, colored with chalk, went for a walk, had a picnic, and enjoyed the nice day.

He's doing pretty well but he did topple a few times :)
Rexford loves to play with all of his cars, trucks, trains, and fire trucks
Rexford and I had a fun time painting today. He made sure he dipped his brush into each color before painting on the paper so after awhile the colors were very mixed. But fun anyway :)
Here are our paintings
We also had fun using chalk outside. Rexford kept telling me to draw fire trucks and garbage trucks.

March So Far
I can't believe how much it seems Austin has changed in the last week. He really holds his head up much higher when he's on his tummy this week. He laughs and smiles at Daddy and has the cutest little giggle ever! He is constantly rolling to his tummy but has only been able to roll to his back twice. He pulls his legs in and pushes his butt up in the air until he flops over. This technique has also helped him scoot forward a few times. He is such a little mover, always trying to go somewhere or reach a toy (usually Rexford's toys). He has also started to voice disapproval when I leave the room sometimes. He is still such a good baby, smiling and content.
I wish I had more time in the day so I could have more time to play with Rexford by himself. He loves to help me fold laundry, cook, and clean. He can drive me crazy sometimes with his occasional fits or moodiness but he is a sweetheart and tells me he loves me all the time. He likes for me to cuddle with him on the couch while he watches a show and loves to have Daddy lay with him for a few minutes at bedtime. They grow so fast so why not...

Austin still loves the sling and will sleep for a long time in it. I love the sling too :)
Austin enjoying the swing even though he's packed in by a huge towel
Rexford in his swing - he loves to go really high
I have started waking Rexford up from his naps after an hour and a half because he was having trouble going to sleep at night. When I opened his door the other day to wake him up he just looked so cute I had to take a picture.
