The other day Rexford was unusually outgoing for the camera. He was in an extra silly mood dancing and laughing for quite a while. Then he started playing with the drums and Austin wanted in on the action too. Here's some of our music fun!

Rain
It was raining on the way home from church on Sunday and here is my conversation with Rexford.
Rexford: Why is it raining?
Me: The plants and trees and grass get thirsty so they need the rain. Just like you get thirsty.
Rexford: I'm thirsty, I need some water too.
Me: Well, I don't have any right now but we're going home and we'll get you a little cup of milk for naptime.
Rexford: It doesn't rain milk!

Day at the Beach
Grandma Ursic was stayed at the beach for a couple of days last week and invited us over for the day. Austin had never been to the beach before and of course had to taste the sand. He liked the water and would laugh when the little waves washed over his feet. Rexford had fun playing with his bucket in the sand and water. He also enjoyed having a sand/water fight with me, playing with Uncle Jason, and building castles with Ian and Daddy. At the end of our fun day, we gave the kids baths and dressed them in their pajamas and they both slept the whole way home.

Pajama Pals
The other day we picked up some new pajamas at the store. Rexford likes it when Austin dresses like him and the only ones hanging on the rack were the right sizes so we bought them. Here are my cute little boys all ready for bed.

Bubble Bath
Rexford loves to have bubbles in his bath every night. One thing he loves is for me to scoop up the bubbles in my hand and then blow them all over the place. He thinks it's so funny and he laughs so hard. He wanted me to take some pictures of the bubbles on his head the other night. After we are done playing, the "Brian" in him comes out and he cleans all the bubbles off the wall :)
Austin's First Haircut
Brian has been bugging me for weeks about cutting Austin's hair. It was long around the ears and the back but I was nervous about Brian doing it thought he was too young :) Sunday morning Brian finally convinced me to let him trim it before church. I held him in the bathtub and Brian cut. Austin kept moving his head to try and get the scissors so we had to hold him still. It does look much better but now he looks so grown up.

Doctor Visits
We went to the doctor on Friday for Rexford's 3 year appt. and Austin's 9 month check-up. Rexford was so cute with the vision test. He said he thought the plus sign was an airplane which is pretty good because he doesn't know what a plus sign is yet. Austin did very well with his shot and only cried for a few seconds. Rexford is still off the charts for both height and weight at 41 inches tall and 43 lbs. Austin weighed in at 22 lbs. 12 oz. (80%) and 28 3/4 inches (75%). So they are both healthy and doing well and the doctor reassured Brian that Austin wouldn't be short as he fears :) They are both growing and changing-Rexford asks a million questions a day (no joke) and each answer is followed by another question, and Austin is cruising around holding on to things and wants to be standing all the time. We love our boys!

Birthday Fun!
Rexford had three days of birthday fun! Thanks everyone for the gifts and parties and fun!
Sunday, July 12th
Today we went to Grandpa and Grandma Ursic's house for a party for Rexford and his cousin Ian. They each got their own cake and candles to blow out. Grandpa and Grandma bought a Wii for their house for the kids to play with. Rexford needs to practice a little but he wants to try it and I think he'll love it once he gets the hang of it.

Saturday, July 11th
In the morning I took Rexford to his cousin Ian's birthday party and Rexford had a lot of fun. They had little bowling lanes and mini bowling balls for the kids. Aunt Amy was nice and let Rexford blow out some candles on a cake and included him in the birthday song since it was his birthday too. After naps, Brian and I took Rexford to Chuck E Cheese for some play time. He liked the games but got scared once giant Chuck came out so we left. Rexford and Daddy then rode on the train in the parking lot and then we headed to Papa's house for cake and presents. He enjoyed the evening and had lots of fun!
Rexford is 3!!
Rexford turned three yesterday and we can't believe he's so big now. He's so smart and sweet and funny and we love him so much. Here he is three years ago.
Elmo
Austin likes to play with Rexford's Tickle Me Elmo and always smiles at it. Here he is watching Elmo on tv and sitting in Rexford's Elmo chair. He was only interested for a couple of minutes but I got a few smiles.

Little Helper
Rexford is becoming quite the helper lately. He wants to help me wash, fold, and put away laundry. He helps feed Austin, get baths ready, and clean things. He often goes around with his tools "fixing" things. He is getting so grown up. He wants to make phone calls (to Aunt Shannon to ask to come over) and he likes to "write notes" to people. The other day he came to us with his pliers (I guess he thought they looked like Daddy's hedge trimmers) and his shoes on and said that he needed to go outside and trim the bushes. So Brian took him outside and let him pretend. Last night he came to me with all of his tools on his belt and was working on fixing something. Here are some pictures of our big boy helping out.
