Conway Days

Rexford's preschool had a carnival the first Saturday in October and we went for a little bit in the morning. The first thing the boys did was the bounce house. I was really surprised that Austin jumped in there by himself. I thought he wouldn't do it without me but he hopped right in and had a great time jumping with Rexford. Then we walked over to check out the fire truck. Austin loved the fire truck and didn't want to get out! We took him out and he tried to climb back up. Then we let the boys go on the pony ride and Austin was so excited! Rexford loved it too but Austin was dying to get on and held on and went around by himself. We then played some games, ate some food and ended our fun time by doing the cupcake walk. Here are some pictures of our fun day.

Fun at Aquatica

We have gone to Aquatica for the past three years now and have gone once a week all summer long. I hadn't taken any pictures because my camera can't get wet but my dad let us borrow his so we could try to get some fun pictures of the kids enjoying one of our favorite summer places. On our first attempt the little kid area was closed so we were disappointed but still got some fun pictures. We went again the next week and were able to capture the fun we have in the little kid area. Sadly it was a little cool so we probably won't go anymore this year but hopefully winter will be short and we'll be back there sometime next March! I know this is a really long post with lots of pictures but I just wanted to have pictures for the kids.

Preschool Update

Preschool has been good. He was so excited at first and then he had a rough couple of weeks where he was a little upset in the mornings and didn't want to go because he doesn't like it when kids get in trouble. He's been fine the last two weeks though and seems happy and excited to go and tells me all about everything when I pick him up. He knows the date and what letter he's learning about and tells me what he'll learn about next week. I knew before he started school that his fine motor skills weren't great and so he has had a little bit of difficulty learning to hold his pencil and controlling it when he writes. He gets frustrated with some of the lowercase letters because they are more curvy. He doesn't like the "e" in his name and asked me if he could skip it. We have been practicing his name and it has been frustrating and usually takes a lot of time and patience. His teacher is wonderful and has been working him a lot on it at school. And he's getting so much better! Yesterday he sat down to do his homework and wrote his name by himself in a few seconds! And it's not huge, it's smaller and more controlled! I nearly cried I was so proud of him.
Yay!
