Moving Out Day

A lot of people didn't really know about it but we sold our house on January 27th and moved out the next Wednesday on Feb. 3rd. We really wanted a garage and attic space and so we found a cute new house close by. Moving is of course a pain, especially with kids. We started packing weeks before but there were a lot of things we couldn't pack until the last minute. Rexford was really excited about the whole thing and wanted to help with everything from packing boxes to loading the truck. Austin was confused and didn't quite understand where all of his toys and room decorations kept going. It was a little sad on moving day. We were excited about the new house but it's always weird to move and leave behind a house we worked so hard on and where our kids have lived since they were born. It was weird too because our new house wasn't ready yet and so we moved all of our stuff into the new garage but then couldn't stay there. Brian's parents were wonderful and let us crash with them for a little over a week. They fed us, let us take over their televisions, had their house messed up by two wild boys :), and his mom washed and ironed our clothes! We had it pretty easy :) Austin was so confused and kept going to the door wanting to go home when he got tired but Rexford seemed to do well. We were finally able to move into our new house on Feb. 12th (well, we painted that night and moved in the next day but we're still not quite done moving in). I'll post pictures of the new place later but here are some pictures of the boys helping Daddy load the big truck.

Austin enjoyed sitting at the top of the ramp

Rexford loved helping!

Austin thought the truck ramp was a climbing toy

They had lots of fun walking up and down the ramp

Teddy Time

Austin likes to play with his teddy bear from Aunt Shannon. He gives it hugs and kisses and carries it around. One day a few weeks ago he put him on the sit n spin toy and thought it was so funny to watch him spin and fall off :)

TV time

Sometimes, though it is rare, I can get the boys to sit together on the couch and watch a show on tv for just a few minutes while I try to get something done. Here they a few weeks ago enjoying an episode of Thomas together - both with their blankets :)

Random Pics

Here are some random pictures that I like from the last few weeks that don't really need a post so I'm combining them.

Austin had so much fun last week playing in the water with the boats at the science center. He thought it was hilarious to fill the boat with water and then dump it all over the floor! I loved how big the smock thing was on him - so cute :)
My boys hanging out on the couch together watching tv (this lasted probably a minute before one of them got up and was running around again)
Rexford making a silly face
Rexford checking out the falling ice. He didn't stay out too long because it was SO cold!

My 30th Birthday

Brian and I are now both officially in our thirties - at least for the next few years :) It was a week long celebration. I got a pedicure with my friend Stacy on her birthday a few days before mine. So relaxing, I should go more often :) Then I had fun celebrating at Cracker Barrel with my mom and sisters and then had a party with my Dad and family on the big day! Alyson brought "pin the tail on the donkey" so that I would feel young and it was lots of fun! Rexford put several tails on and everyone got a turn. Austin and Rexford helped me blow out the candles and Austin was very amused by them. If you have to turn 30, a pedicure, chicken and dumplings, yummy cake, and pin the tail on the donkey are the way to go :) Thanks everyone!

Christina tried to help Austin play the game but he did not want to touch the tail sticker.

Chuck E Cheese

Rexford was so excited to use his Chuck E Cheese tokens that he got for Christmas. We met up with Aly, Todd, and Matthew and had lots of fun. Austin liked the little rides and Rexford liked to play the games and win tickets. Rexford also liked to sit in the car with Chuck E Cheese and get his picture taken - he did it like 4 times :) He was very happy with his prizes - two lollipops, a twisty straw, and a spoon which he got for Austin because he already has one. I only let him take half of the tokens so we still have a lot left for another visit!

Concentrating on the game
Austin loved driving the car
Matthew wasn't too sure about the ride

I love Rexford's face here :)
Austin racing in the Kentucky Derby :)
Rexford did this over and over and over!

Dancing

One night at dinner Austin was really dancing and kept doing these funny arm motions. Rexford of course wanted attention too and so you will hear him on the video trying to get some :) There is some video of Rexford dancing near the end. Here are our dancing boys!

Warm Fuzzy PJs

It has been unusually freezing here so we pulled out the warmest pajamas we could find. Austin just looks so cute in the footy pajamas that I had to take a couple of pictures. The lighting isn't good but he's still cute!

Rexford is a Sunbeam!

Since a new year started Rexford is now in the Sunbeam class at church and gets to go with all the big kids to Primary. I think he'll like it a lot better than nursery although he doesn't like that Daddy doesn't go to class with him anymore :) When we dropped him off at his class and started to leave he threw himself on the floor in one last effort to manipulate us into staying but I grabbed Brian(since he is the soft one), told Rexford we loved him, he would have fun, and we'd come get him at the end. He had fun of course and had lots to tell us after church. He's growing up so fast and is such a smart, funny, and sweet boy. Here are some pictures of the boys dressed for church.

Rainy Day

The boys had fun hanging out with their cousin Matthew at Papa's house the other day. It was the one warm day we've had in the last several weeks but it was raining so they all had fun playing on the couch together and staring out the window.

Isn't Matthew so cute?!!

Book Fairy

The Book Fairy visited us on New Year's Eve and dropped off a new book for everyone to find New Year's Day. Everyone enjoyed their new book!

Rexford was so excited to open his bag and find a Cars book with play cars and play mat

He's having lots of fun with it!

Austin liked his new animal touch and feel book along with the tissue paper

I got a fun cookbook with fun stuff to try :)

Sesame Street Christmas

I had been wanting to go to Sea World to see the Sesame Street Christmas show and the Shamu Christmas show but they were only at the busy times of the year. Brian was nice enough to agree to go one evening when he really probably didn't want to go to a crowded theme park :). It was really crowded and we had to wait in a line for the Elmo show and then run to get the last seats at the Shamu show. The kids were pretty tired by the end of the night and it was a little chilly (Austin refused to keep his socks and shoes on) but we had fun and I'm glad we went. Austin had never seen a Sesame Street Show and he LOVED watching the characters sing and dance. Rexford liked the show too and the fake snow that fell all around as we were leaving to rush to the Shamu show.

Fun with Art

Rexford got an easel for Christmas and he's had lots of fun so far drawing with chalk and dry erase markers. Today he wanted to paint so we pulled out the watercolors and finger paints.

So serious

And silly :)
